According to reports a 21-year-old hacker was arrested in the United States for allegedly stealing about the US $1 million in cryptocurrencies, simply by hacking the SIM card on the smartphones of some Silicon Valley executives. The suspect, named Nicholas Truglia, succeeded in persuading the employees of the telecommunication companies simply to transfer the data of the mobile phones of the victims to the SIM cards of the devices under their control.

Moreover, the attacker, Nicholas Truglia is a resident of New York City, and California authorities moved to his home last week simply to arrest him.

While, so far, only $300,000 of the theft amount has been recovered and currently, the hacker, of course, Nicholas Truglia has been detained in Manhattan and simply expecting his extradition to the city of California, where he will be investigated for theft, alteration of computer data to defraud and use private information without any authorization.

As the financial scams through SIM hacking procedure have become a trend in the US in recent months. It was also reported about few weeks ago, the incident like this in which hackers managed to steal the US $23 million in cryptocurrencies.
